Fall is upon us!

Wow, every time I sit down to post something, it seems I only get to it once a quarter.  Where does the time go?  Well aside from the photography, family and moving to a new house takes up much of that time!  Slowly getting settled and will get my studio together once the boxes are unpacked.

I've managed to get out to shoot some old friends from Intoxicated By Nature at Venue.  Was nice to get out shooting some concert stages with the lights.  Always enjoy the big stage, sound and lights!

Have some other projects coming down the pipe as well as some art projects on the go with clients! This should keep me busy for the fall and into the new year.

Summer is over! Time to get back to shooting!

Well it's been a busy summer with family vacations, working and enjoying the outdoors and nice weather.  I did some shooting here and there, but for the most part I was the driver on many of or exploration journeys!
I did manage to shoot a few different shows and picked up some new clients.

Recently I managed to shoot Canadian Rock Icons, The Headpins and Prism at the Hope Brigade Days Festival.

I would also like to introduce my latest client, Steve Hillis, whom I had the pleasure of working with.

If you're interested in getting some headshots or portrait work done, send me a message!

April moves into May, May is now moving into June!

Where does the time go?  Every once in a while I pull my head up from editing and think, wow, it's the end of May already?  Well here's the update on my world!

I've been busy working on putting my studio together and doing some shooting.  I've had a couple of computers crash, and for anyone who does editing, you know the nightmare that presents!

Along with that, I managed to squeeze in an engagement shoot for an old friend of mine.  Shoot was great, and we had alot of fun being creative. I want to wish them a wonderful life together!

I have also had the opportunity to pop in a couple of jams and shoot with a new Sigma portrait lens I picked up.  The F2.8 is great in low light, so I've been having fun shooting some old friends, and meeting some new ones along the way.

Ugly Men Show, Ayotte's Ayotte Kit, and Servo

On March 19th, at the Media Club in Vancouver, BC, Canada, a three piece band that goes by the name "Ugly Men" had their Album release party and I was invited to come shoot.  On the bill was 4 bands; No Operator, Quartered, Ugly Men and Exes for Eyes.  All the sets were high octane, energetic, and loud!  I've shot shows and sometimes the 3 song limit seems like forever, but with all these guys, a 45 minute set just screamed by, which I shot the whole time.  Big thanks to Jonathan Wu from Ugly Men for having me down.  Aside from the Primus type grooves, I was treated to a great cover of Motorhead's Ace of Spades!  Check them out!

On March 6th I was invited out to Falconetti's on Comercial Drive in Vancouver, BC to shoot  Van City Soul Quartet's new line up for 2015.  I was surprised and happy to see an old friend Ray Ayotte drumming with them.  I met Ray years ago when our bands at the time played a show together.  He's a class act and always enjoy chatting with him.  Here is a shot of his small stage kit that seems to have people talking!

And here is a promo shot I did for a band that calls themselves Servo.  Great group of guys and I am really digging their album as I can hear the influences of Deep Purple, Yes, Hendrix, Cream, Sabbath all mixed in there with an assortment of others!  Check them out when you get the chance at  https://servoband.bandcamp.com/

I can't believe it's already March and I'm just updating my site!  Where did the past 2 months go?  I guess it's better to stay busy, and busy I am these days.  Still getting settled into the new house and unpacking.  I have my studio pretty much laid out and semi functioning with the edit bays up and working now.  Now just have to clear out some room and get the back drops in place to start using the space as I wanted it for, shooting!

Well the beginning of my year has been a fast paced world of activity with the day gig to pay bills and family life.  Given we have been very fortunate this year to not really have a winter, I've been taking advantage of that to do some offroading with the family in our jeep.  My partner in life is the chief photographer on those adventures while I hold down the driving duties.  Few trips out and we are finding it a great way to explore and be one with nature.

As for my concert and band photography, I've been keeping busy working on shoots for Sally and the Melohearts, Servo, and fielding inquiries to do some other work during the spring for some indie bands.  I've got a few things in the hopper to keep me busy in March and already booking into April for upcoming shows!

Well back to the editing then bed for tonight!  Update again soon!  Cheers!

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2015!

Happy New Year to everyone and 2015 is looking to be a busy year for me!

After moving in December this year, we are still unpacking the house and with the holidays, being sick, and some family issues at the moment, it's taking some time!  Hopefully we will get the house unpacked and find the new studio area where I can set up to do headshots and band shots for clients!
Just want to congratulate a couple of guys I've had the honour of both shooting and calling friends over the years.  Congratulations to Harpdog and Yukon Slim (aka Brandon Issak) on your Maple Blues Awards and all the best to both of you on the recognition of your peers, friends, and fans!  Cheers!
